Driver cited in boat crash

LAKE HAVASU CITY – On Monday, Sept. 16, at approximately 10:10 p.m., several 911 calls were placed about a boat crash near Site 5 on Lake Havasu. Deputies from the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office Division of Boating Safety, along with officers from the Lake Havasu City Police Department, the Lake Havasu City Fire Department, River Medical Ambulances, and a trooper from the Arizona Department of Public Safety, responded to the scene. Expect traffic delays due to homecoming parade

BULLHEAD CITY – The Bullhead City Police Department would like to notify residents of expected traffic delays on Friday, September 20 for Mohave High School’s 50th Anniversary Homecoming Parade. The parade will kick-off at 10 a.m. from the corner of Gemstone Avenue and Langford Drive and continue east on Hancock Road to the Mohave High School parking lot, east of Trane Road. The parade is expected to last approximately one hour. Portions of Hancock Road will be blocked off during this time; however, sections on Hancock Road will reopen once the parade passes through.

Cooper convicted in meth dealing case

KINGMAN – A Bullhead City man faces a five- to 10-year prison term following his conviction for possession of dangerous drugs for sale. A Mohave County Superior Court jury returned a guilty verdict Tuesday afternoon in the one-day trial of Christopher Cooper, 48. Defense attorney Mike Shin told the jury Tuesday morning that his client does not deny that more than 15 grams of methamphetamine were confiscated from a shed on a residential property on February 5. McIntire to accept plea rather than face up to 70 years in prison

KINGMAN – A Kingman man who faced as many as 70 years in prison for his alleged abuse of his son and a niece decided to accept a plea agreement following a Tuesday settlement conference. The proposed plea agreement for Kenneth McIntire, 30, is scheduled to be entered September 26. A school resource officer began investigating after learning a 13-year-old boy suffered lower body injuries. Police arrested McIntire on April 4 after learning McIntire used a belt, a section of PVC pipe and a metal broom handle to strike his son for disciplinary purpose. KINGMAN – On Monday, September 16, at about 2:30 p.m., Kingman Police arrested Charles Raymond Slansky, 38, and Laschell Charmaine Eastman, 45, both of Kingman, on felony charges of first degree burglary and theft. According to a Kingman Police Department press release, officers responded to a residence in the 1900 block of Slaughterhouse Canyon Rd. regarding the report of subjects being on the roof and entering through a window of the home.
