Senior Chief Rice named Grand Marshal of BHC Veteran’s Day Parade

BULLHEAD CITY – The 1st Marine Division Association and Paul Walsh Veteran’s Day committee have announced this year’s Veteran’s Day Parade Grand Marshal. This year’s honoree is a 22-year veteran of the Unites States Navy, Senior Chief Donald W. Rice, EMCS USN. Senior Chief Rice was born in Gloucester, Massachusetts on June 16, 1927 and joined the Navy in May of 1945 when he was only 17. Halloween activities correction

An error was made on Page 13 of the Oct. 23 orint edition of The Standard. The Kingman Parks & Recreation Department will not be holding a Fall Festival this year. The Luv of Paws Howl & Meow will be held on Oct. 30 from 4 to 8 p.m. The Gardens and Cerbat Lanes will not be holding a Trick-or-Treat event this year. The Mohave County Library Kingman branch will host its Halloween Bash on Oct. 30 only, with 3 sessions: 9:15, 10:30, and 11:45 a.m.

Monthly dinner is Nov. 14

KINGMAN – The Kathryn Heidenreich(KHAC)  monthly dinner will be held Thursday, Nov. 14 from 4 p.m. until the food is gone. This month’s menu is roasted turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, cranberry sauce, dinner roll, and beverage. Dessert will be provided by Beacon of Hope Hospice. County conducting elections by mail

MOHAVE COUNTY – More than 60,000 ballots have been mailed to registered voters in Mohave County who are urged to return them as soon as possible to ensure they are counted in the Nov. 5 election. County Recorder Kristi Blair said 40,769 ballots were mailed to Kingman Unified School District (KUSD) voters who are deciding a bond proposal while 22,800 ballots were mailed to Bullhead City voters who are deciding the water utility question known as Proposition 415.
