KINGMAN – What started out as a fun challenge has blossomed into a full scale specialty event to begin the New Year. The Polar Bear Plunge is open to anyone interested in starting off their new year in a “chilling” way by braving the near freezing waters of Centennial Pool, 3333 Harrison St, at exactly noon on New Year’s Day, January 1. LAKE HAVASU CITY – The Lake Havasu City Fire Department (LHCFD) responded to reports of smoke in a residence in the 4000 block of Black Hills Bay the afternoon of Friday, Dec. 20. According to a LHCFD press release, the homeowner reported a fire after finding smoke in the living room; he was able to evacuate. The first arriving fire company reported 20 to 30 foot flames coming from the roof of the residence.
