Speaking at Kingman Route 66 Rotary Club’s first meeting of the new year on January 3 was Mike Meersman, Director of Parks, Recreation, Golf and Aquatics for the City of Kingman (shown above with club Rotarian Tom Clark). Among the topics discussed, Meersman noted a shade structure is being added at Firefighters Park, a new 2-1/2 mile trail, White Cliffs Wagon Wheel Trail, is in the works, and Fort Beale Loop Trail has been upgraded and its parking area increased. Elderly couple suffer life-threatening injuries in head-on crash

KINGMAN – Authorities report two elderly Kingman residents suffered life-threatening injuries Tuesday morning when the vehicle they were driving was struck head-on by another vehicle driven by a teenager who fell asleep at the wheel. The 69-year-old male driver and his 80-year-old female passenger were flown to a Las Vegas hospital following the crash just before 9:00 a.m. in the 1000 block of Stockton Hill Road. Deputy Kingman police chief Rusty Cooper said the 19-year-old, at-fault driver of the other vehicle was taken to Kingman Regional Medical Center for treatment of a broken arm. Stumpf to take prison deal in I-40 shooting death

KINGMAN – A near year-old Interstate 40 offramp shooting death in Kingman will be resolved in a plea agreement entered Tuesday, Jan. 7 at the Mohave County Courthouse. Bradley Stumpf, 32, pleaded guilty to second degree murder for the February 11, 2019 death of Jason McCafferty, 46. Prosecutor Karolina Czaplinska told Mohave County Superior Court Judge Derek Carlisle that McCafferty had taken Stumpf to Phoenix for a work assignment but that McCafferty decided to return to Kingman because Stumpf’s behavior had become erratic and strange. Caitlyn Roseborough from Golden Valley qualified for the Fall 2019 Dean’s List at Belmont University.
