PHOENIX⁠ — In partnership with Secretary of State Katie Hobbs, Governor Doug Ducey today issued an Executive Order allowing Arizonans to get documents notarized remotely, while ensuring secure and effective verification processes. Currently, notaries and signers must complete the notarization process in person. Allowing notarizations to be securely completed virtually will support the state’s COVID-19 “stay home, stay healthy, stay connected” guidelines while allowing the completion of deeds, loan approvals, business agreements and more. BULLHEAD CITY – Eight people filed nominating petitions to run for four council seats up for grabs in Bullhead City. They include incumbents Mark Clark, Kathy Bruck and Tami Ring. Challengers include Waheed Zehri, Eva Corbett, Norma Brummet and Gerald Ross. Council member Sheila Shutts is not seeking re-election. In Lake Havasu City, incumbent Council members David Lane and Gordon Groat submitted nominating petitions while councilwoman Donna McCoy is not pursuing re-election. Arizona Governor Doug Ducey yesterday, April 7, issued an Executive Order expanding healthcare reporting requirements on hospitals and health care providers to better track data needed to protect health care workers and patients and help slow the spread of COVID-19. There are now 23 positive COVID-19 cases in Mohave County. The latest is a Kingman service area individual, an adult in the 20-44 age range, who is currently isolated at home. The case is the result of “community spread.” Nurses will begin the contact investigation as soon as possible. As defined by the CDC, community spread means people have been infected with the virus in an area, including some who are not sure how or where they became infected. As part of the Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation and Reentry response to the evolving CDC guidelines regarding face coverings, ADCRR will be distributing fabric face coverings to all employees over the next few days. On Friday, the CDC recommended that essential staff wear non-medical (non-PPE) cloth face coverings to reduce the risk of transmission of COVID19. The face coverings are being made by inmates at Perryville, Douglas, and Florence complexes through the Arizona Correctional Industries (ACI) garment program, which has been in operation for more than 30 years.
