KINGMAN –The City of Kingman is recognizing Utility Billing team member Janice B. for her life saving efforts. Kingman City Manager Ron Foggin, along with Fire Chief Jake Rhoades, and Utility Billing and Finance members presented Janice with a “Life Saving Award.” While helping a customer pay her utility bill over the phone, Janice immediately noticed that something was wrong with the customer, because of her impaired speech. FT. MOHAVE – Elite Southwest Holdings will develop a solar power project in Fort Mohave following separate actions at the April 6 Mohave County Board of Supervisors meeting. The board voted 4-1 in support of rezoning and a general plan amendment required for the 32-megawatt facility that will provide power for the Bullhead City-based Mohave Electric Cooperative (MEC). To help Arizona’s hospitals weather the impact of COVID-19, Governor Doug Ducey announced today that the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS) will work with its provider partners to make available more than $50 million in accelerated hospital payments and advances and extend an additional $5 million in new COVID-19 related funding to Critical Access Hospitals throughout the state. KINGMAN – A chain of eateries owned by Kingman resident Krystal Burge and her brother Mark Peterson have been lauded for a generous charitable contribution. The 89 Pizza Huts restaurants owned by the sister-brother business partners worked together to raise more than $70,000.
