COVID-19 update: 2 deaths, 8 new cases today; all in Kingman area

MOHAVE COUNTY – Late this afternoon, the Mohave County Health Department (MCDPH) Nursing staff was notified of 8 confirmed COVID-19 positive cases in Mohave County and two COVID-19 related deaths. All of them are in the Kingman service area. The two deaths are both previously identified Kingman area cases and are linkedto another confirmed case.  One person is in the 55-64 year age range and the other is 65 to 74 in age. Havasu man faces child porn charges

LAKE HAVASU CITY – A Lake Havasu City man who admitted he would view pornography online for hours while high on methamphetamine faces prosecution for sexual exploitation of a minor. An investigation began last fall when the Arizona Internet Crimes Against Children task force informed Lake Havasu police that someone had uploaded at least 23 images of child pornography from a home in the 3000 block of Whirlwind Lane. “All of them contained images of young juvenile and prepubescent male and female children engaging in sexually exploitive exhibition and other sexual acts,” a police report stated. The investigation led to the December…

Suspect arrested in BHC stabbing incident

KINGMAN – Police in Kingman have arrested a man who allegedly stabbed a man in Bullhead City in late March. A warrant had been issued for the arrest of Ryan William Shean, 30, Kingman. Shean was taken into custody Thursday morning, May 14. He was booked into the Adult Detention Center on attempted murder and aggravated assault charges. Bullhead City Police said a 24-year-old man was stabbed during a March 27 fight in the 1000 block of Mobile Lane. KINGMAN – The Kingman Police Department (KPD)has identified the victim and released more details of Wednesday’s deadly officer-involved shooting (OIS). The KPD is conducting an outside independent investigation of the incident, common practice in OIS incidents.    Police spokeswoman Jennifer Sochocki identified the deceased as Buddy Dale Lott, 50, Kingman. She said the Mohave County Medical Examiner determined he died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.    Sochocki said the suicidal gunshot occurred about 12:30 p.m. in north Kingman.  She said the incident evolved from earlier in the day when a Department of Public Safety officer tried to conduct a traffic stop.    Sochocki said…
