Kingman Parks open for COVID-19

I heard that the City of Kingman has opened Centennial Park as of July 11 for baseball tournaments. The tournament bookings are more than quadruple what they were in January 2018. The City Council is bragging how much this will fill our hotels and restaurants. Already we have restaurants that are not having their staff wear masks and even have one with an open buffet and salad bar. Talk about inviting problems. Has the City Council discussed this with Kingman Regional Medical Center to see if they are ready to handle this disaster in the making?

The COVID-19 virus cases are continuing to RISE in Mohave County. Knowing that, why on earth would the City Council agree to bring 50 to 80 % more out of town visitors than Kingman had in 2018 and 2019?

I realize that these tournaments would bring in a lot of money. A lot of tax money for the City Council to waste on more signs that they put in the wrong place and a crap stone lizard that cost thousands more than it is worth and that people have to hunt to find. Far be it for these geniuses to even think of fixing our “tank trap” streets. That would be common sense, which the mayor and council appear to be lacking.

All that aside, if the City goes ahead with these tournaments then the Mayor and the Council members should be personally responsible if the COVID-19 cases increase after these games.
