Rachel Diane Mains, of Kingman, died Sunday, July 26, 2020. She was 46. Ms. Mains was born Nov. 13, 1973 in Kingman. A service was held Thursday, July 30 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Sutton Memorial Funeral Home. The family contact is her son Ethan Gene Mains. Arrangements were made by Sutton Memorial Funeral Home.
MOHAVE COUNTY – Coronavirus testing in Bullhead City a week ago revealed a concerning rate of infection within the pool. Department of Public Health Director Denise Burley told Mohave County Supervisors Thursday that 171 of the 200 people who pre-registered actually had tests conducted by North Country HealthCare (NCHC). “Twelve of the 90 tests collected on Friday were positive and 12 of the 81 tests collected on Saturday were positive,” Burley said. “That leads to a 14.5% positivity rate. The Arizona Department of Transportation has been granted environmental approval to continue moving forward with plans to improve the US 93 / Interstate 40 (I-40) west Kingman traffic interchange. A “Finding of No Significant Impact” was issued after the project team completed a Final Environmental Assessment for the project, which was prepared in compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). The Final Environmental Assessment also includes comments from the community received through the public hearing on May 28, 2020. The document is posted on the project website at azdot.gov/WestKingmanTIP, under the Final Environmental Assessment tab.
KINGMAN – A Bullhead City man busted for hauling heroin is going to the Arizona Department of Corrections. A five-year prison term is mandated punishment in the plea agreement entered Friday for Michal Mallory. Prosecutor Jonathan Robinson told Judge Billy Sipe that Mallory was the driver of a vehicle pulled over May 6, 2018 on highway 95 near Aztec Road in Fort Mohave. He said the vehicle was searched after it was learned that Mallory and his passenger were both named in arrest warrants at the time.
