Brenda Kay Inks Lucero born to Howard Scott Guthrie and Ina Sue Guthrie (Lakey) on July 13, 1953 in Abilene, Texas and raised in California with her four siblings, Joanie Rogerson, Ann, Robbie and Jerry. Brenda was suddenly taken to be with the Lord on November 29, 2019. Brenda lived in Kingman since 2010 and worked for the Kingman School District for two years as a bus driver, where she met her husband Steven Lucero in October 2013 while both were working at the school district and later married in September 16, 2016. Grand Canyon, AZ– Grand Canyon National Park rangers responded to multiple heat related search and rescue incidents this past weekend. Hikers and backpackers attempting hikes in the inner canyon are strongly encouraged to be prepared for excessively hot temperatures and to understand their own physical limitations in order to prevent emergency situations for themselves and responders. On Saturday, June 20, Phantom Ranch rangers responded to a river runner experiencing heat illness and fatigue on a Colorado River trip. County Health Department urges the use of masks, social distancing MOHAVE COUNTY – Late Monday afternoon, the Mohave County Health Department (MCDPH) Nursing staff was notified of 66 new COVID-19 positive confirmed cases, including two deaths that were not previously reported cases. That is double the number of the previous high number of positive cases. Both deaths are 90+ individuals in the Bullhead City service area. Again, their cases were not previously reported. Remodel/expanstion project underway KINGMAN – One contractor is remodeling and expanding Kingman Fire Station 2 and another is building training structures on the same two-acre parcel at 1605 Harrison St. T.R. Colorado River community drug dealers sentenced

BULLHEAD CITY – A pair of Colorado River community drug dealers were sentenced to the Arizona Department of Corrections last week in separate Mohave County Superior Court cases. The 16-year prison term ordered June 18 for Stephen Martin, 60, was stipulated in a plea agreement. Deputy county attorney Kellen Marlow said Martin, Bullhead City, sold nearly three pounds of methamphetamine over a 10-day period last June to a confidential informant. The prosecutor told Judge Rick Lambert that Martin should be distinguished from people transporting drugs to other locations because he was involved in sales activity that poisoned the local community….
