Final Environmental Assessment for future US 93 / Interstate 40 interchange project is available online

The Arizona Department of Transportation has been granted environmental approval to continue moving forward with plans to improve the US 93 / Interstate 40 (I-40) west Kingman traffic interchange.  A “Finding of No Significant Impact” was issued after the project team completed a Final Environmental Assessment for the project, which was prepared in compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). The Final Environmental Assessment also includes comments from the community received through the public hearing on May 28, 2020.  The document is posted on the project website at azdot.gov/WestKingmanTIP, under the Final Environmental Assessment tab.

Heroin hauler gets five years in plea agreement

KINGMAN – A Bullhead City man busted for hauling heroin is going to the Arizona Department of Corrections. A five-year prison term is mandated punishment in the plea agreement entered Friday for Michal Mallory. Prosecutor Jonathan Robinson told Judge Billy Sipe that Mallory was the driver of a vehicle pulled over May 6, 2018 on highway 95 near Aztec Road in Fort Mohave. He said the vehicle was searched after it was learned that Mallory and his passenger were both named in arrest warrants at the time. EPCOR seeks rate increase

BULLHEAD CITY – The water company that Bullhead City is trying to take over by eminent domain has filed another rate increase. It was a history of frequent rate hikes that motivated Bullhead City to file condemnation litigation targeting local EPCOR water company assets. City Manager Toby Cotter told council members last week that EPCOR’s request before the Arizona Corporation Commission (ACC) would raise some local rates by 16% and others by as much as 27%.
