Thank you from Kingman Downtown Merchants Association
Dear Editor, The Kingman Downtown Merchants Association (KDMA) would like to thank all organizers, participants, volunteers, merchants, the City of Kingman, and our community for supporting the annual kick-off to the holidays with the tree lighting, the Very Merry Christmas ‘Street of Lights’ displays, and the Mingle Jingle Christmas Bazaar. Somehow, someway, may this be a Christmas worth remembering
Dear Editor, We had difficulties when we were growing up in Martin County, Kentucky but, overall, we thought we were doing okay. President Lyndon Johnson came to Inez, Kentucky in 1964 to let us know we weren’t doing very well. He began his campaign in our community and we became the poster child for American poverty. We hadn’t really thought of ourselves as poor until we started hearing about ourselves in the news. I had numerous friends who didn’t get much for Christmas. Often it was one or two small gifts or nothing at all. Several classmates at my elementary school…
Praise for the Street of Lights, Mingle Jingle celebrations

Our congratulations to Joni Millin and the Kingman Downtown Merchants Association and Matt and Pam Wanner (The Standard Newspaper) for putting on such a wonderful event, which lasted until 9 p.m. and provided several hours for…

What they tremble at most, more than death itself, is free speech, at least one huge sector of that public landscape. I write to publishers and their hand-picked editors regularly about every topic under the sun and they willingly entertain it, except religion. Even when the writing is done in a non-denominational, non-partisan, just-the-facts-ma’am kind of way, they turn their backs and go find a rock to hide under. I have a few…
