BULLHEAD CITY –  Keeping Bullhead City’s Sports fields in pristine shape for tournaments of more than 100 teams, sometimes requires counterintuitive measures.    “I get a lot of calls this time of year.” said Parks Superintendent David Heath. “They are concerned that the grass is dying, or we are watering too much.”  Heath referred to the confusion he encounters yearly when the city begins to reseed the sports fields. Cliff diver drowns at Havasu

KINGMAN – A Kingman man reportedly died following a cliff dive at Lake Havasu. The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) identified the victim of the Saturday, Sept. 23 incident as Ethan Aguilar, 24. MCSO personnel responded at 10:53 a.m. to a reported drowning in the area of the Standard Wash Cove in the southern portion of Lake Havasu.  “It was determined that the victim jumped from a 20 to 30-foot cliff and when he hit the water, he began to struggle,” a news release said. Aguilar was not wearing a personal flotation device and he slipped below the lake surface….

Costa sentenced for attempted sexual abuse

LAKE HAVASU CITY – A male adult who had sex with his teenage neighbor from California at his condominium in Lake Havasu City will spend one more month in jail. Glenn Costa, 44, was convicted of attempted sexual abuse in a plea agreement that dismissed charges involving sexual conduct and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Court proceedings revealed that the victim was 13 years old when she first met Costa as they were (and still are) next door neighbors in a southern California community. Costa and the victim’s parents became friends and socialized. The girl’s father spoke at…
