Two injured in house fire

LAKE HAVASU CITY – A civilian and a firefighter were hurt during a residential structure fire in Lake Havasu City. Crews responded just before 7:00 p.m. Sunday when occupants evacuated after discovering a fire in the garage of a home in the 4100 block of Bison Boulevard. “The first arriving fire company reported a working fire in the garage with flames through the roof,” a news release said. “One occupant was treated on-scene and released. MOHAVE COUNTY – A $9-million state legislative appropriation advances the more than decade-long effort to replace dilapidated Mohave County Sheriff’s Office substations in Lake Havasu City and Mohave Valley. Sheriff Doug Schuster was thankful after a momentum gain during an Oct. 16 Board of Supervisors meeting. Supervisors approved Schuster’s request to use $2.94-million to purchase a newly constructed building at 6534 Showplace Drive to replace the antiquated substation on Highway 95.
