KINGMAN – The City of Kingman is now accepting applications to fill a vacancy on the Municipal Utility Commission (MUC), for a partial term ending December 31, 2028. Applications are due by December 31, 2025, and the selected individual will be appointed by the Kingman City Council at its January 20, 2026 meeting.
The Municipal Utility Commission serves as the City of Kingman’s advisory and review body for all things related to water, sewer, and sanitation systems. The Commission studies and evaluates proposed exceptions, interpretations, modifications, and appeals to existing utility regulations and policies, and then provides recommendations to the City Council. It also reviews capital improvement proposals, bond issues, and rate schedules, ensuring the city’s utility systems are planned and developed responsibly. In addition, the Commission maintains close coordination with the Planning and Zoning Commission and may review matters involving other public or private utility providers at the Council’s request.
The Commission meets the fourth Thursday of every month at 5:30 p.m. Appointed members are expected to attend meetings and actively participate in discussions and decision-making.
This opportunity is ideal for residents who care about Kingman’s water, sewer, and sanitation systems and want to help guide future infrastructure decisions. It’s a great fit for people with an interest in utilities, planning, or public policy, as well as anyone who enjoys problem-solving and wants to contribute to the city’s long-term development.
Applications may be submitted online at https://serve.cityofkingman.gov or by contacting the City Clerk’s Office at 928-753-8102.
