Mohave College men’s soccer earns three all-region honors, reflects on 2026 season

MOHAVE COUNTY – Three Mohave College men’s soccer players earned All-Region I honors from the Arizona Community College Athletic Conference (ACCAC) following the 2026 season. The recognition comes after a season that included notable victories, a postseason appearance and an international opportunity for one of the Bighorns’ standout players.

Lazzar Ramos, forward, and Alan Salgado, forward, were named to the All-Region I First Team, while Silvestre Mellin, defender, earned All-Region I Second Team honors. The three players were recognized for their performances and contributions throughout the season.

Ramos continued to be a key contributor for the Bighorns, recording multiple scoring performances throughout the year. He scored three goals in Mohave’s 5-0 victory over Truckee Meadows Community College Aug. 22 and added two goals in a 4-0 victory over Snow College Aug. 29. Ramos also scored twice in the Bighorns’ 3-2 win over Otero College Sept. 5.

In addition to his accomplishments at Mohave College, Ramos received an international call-up to represent Puerto Rico’s national soccer team during the 2026 season. The opportunity marked another significant achievement for Ramos, allowing him to represent Puerto Rico on an international stage while continuing his collegiate soccer career.

Salgado also contributed several important goals throughout the season. He scored in Mohave’s victories over Truckee Meadows and Snow College before recording both goals in the Bighorns’ 2-1 win against College of Southern Nevada Oct. 10. Salgado also scored Mohave’s lone goal in its postseason matchup against Arizona Western College Oct. 27.

Mellin contributed to the Bighorns throughout the season, helping provide defensive support during conference and nonconference competition. His selection to the All-Region I Second Team recognizes his contributions to Mohave’s defensive efforts.

Mohave opened the season with a 5-0 victory over Truckee Meadows Community College and followed with a 4-0 win over Snow College. The team also earned a 3-2 victory against Otero College, marking the 30th win for Head Coach Camilo Valencia at Mohave College.

Throughout conference play, Mohave earned two 2-1 victories against College of Southern Nevada and recorded a 3-3 draw against Yavapai College. The Bighorns also celebrated the official renaming of Firebird Field to Bighorns Field Oct. 10, marking another milestone for the College’s growing soccer program.

Mohave finished the season with a 6-9-1 record and advanced to the Region I postseason semifinals against Arizona Western College Oct. 27. The Bighorns lost 2-1, with Salgado scoring in the 61st minute and Chase Radford, goalkeeper, recording nine saves.

The three All-Region selections add to the program’s accomplishments as Mohave College continues to develop its men’s soccer program under Valencia’s leadership.
