Man in drag charged with meth possession for sale

LAKE HAVASU CITY, Ariz. – A Kingman man was arrested following a one-ounce drug seizure in Lake Havasu City on Oct. 21. Officers responded to a citizen report of a man wearing women’s clothing getting in and out of a vehicle parked on Smoketree Ave., and behaving suspiciously.

A police report said an officer made contact with a man who appeared to be wearing female attire. It said the officer spotted a baggie with white powder residue when Brian Tapia, 35, opened his wallet to produce identification.

Police said 28.5 grams of methamphetamine were located in a black purse inside the vehicle, along with a digital scale and other drug paraphernalia. The report said Tapia denied selling drugs but that contents of his cellphone suggested otherwise.

“While looking through the phone I located numerous text messages consistent with the sales of illegal drugs,” the police narrative said.

Tapia was arrested for possession of dangerous drugs for sale, possession of dangerous drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.
