Bullhead burglar enters guilty plea that would require drug counseling

Interior of courtroom

BULLHEAD CITY — A would-be Bullhead City burglar expressed interest in drug counseling as he entered a plea agreement on October 23 that should resolve his criminal case short of trial.

Deputy Mohave County attorney Marcie Mininberg told Mohave County Superior Court Judge Lee Jantzen that Gabriel Gonzales, 38, was armed with a wooden club when police officers responding to a burglary alarm located him within a fenced yard in the 2000 block of South Panorama Drive on August 28.

Mininberg said Gonzales was wearing a backpack from which officers confiscated vice grips she said are commonly used in burglaries. She said traces of white powder drugs were also detected in the backpack.

Gonzales pleaded guilty to possession of burglary tools and possession of dangerous drugs (methamphetamine). Terms of the plea deal prohibit additional jail time and require the Court to place Gonzales on supervised probation at a November 21 sentencing hearing.
