Kingman Police cracking down on impaired drivers this 4th of July weekend

KINGMAN — As we celebrate our nation’s independence, the Kingman Police Department, along with the Western Arizona DUI Task Force, will be on extra patrol throughout the holiday weekend. Statistically, Independence Day sees one of the highest levels of alcohol consumption, which unfortunately means more impaired drivers on the road.

Let’s be clear: impaired driving is illegal, expensive, and potentially deadly — not just for the driver, but for passengers, pedestrians, and other innocent motorists.

Thanks to grant funding from the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety, KPD will have additional officers out and about, specifically targeting impaired drivers during this high-risk period.

KPD wants everyone to enjoy the festivities responsibly. If your celebration includes alcohol — or any other substance that affects your ability to drive — please, don’t get behind the wheel. Line up a sober driver, grab a cab, or book a rideshare.

And a friendly reminder: if you do choose to drive impaired, you will be arrested, you will go to jail, and your vehicle will be towed right along with you.

If you see someone you suspect is driving impaired, don’t hesitate — call KPD immediately.
