KINGMAN, Ariz. – With construction of the Flying Fortress Traffic Interchange nearing completion, the City of Kingman is preparing to celebrate the grand opening of this long-awaited transportation project.
The community is invited to save the date for the official grand opening ceremony on Monday, October 5. The event will commemorate the opening of both the new Flying Fortress I-40 Traffic Interchange and the Parkway connection to Airway Avenue.
The celebration will feature an official ribbon-cutting ceremony and a special flyover by a World War II-era B-17 Flying Fortress aircraft.
As crews complete the final concrete, paving and finishing work, the project is approaching the culmination of nearly 50 years of planning and community vision. As a strategic infrastructure investment, Flying Fortress Parkway strengthens the transportation network connecting the interstate to key employment and industrial areas. This project will help improve mobility for existing employers, open access to development-ready sites, and enhance the city’s competitiveness in attracting new industry. In turn, it will support job creation and advance long-term economic growth.
The City of Kingman invites the entire community to join in celebrating this historic milestone and the beginning of a new chapter for the area.
Additional information regarding the ceremony, time, location and parking will be released as the event approaches.
