Teen listed in critical condition after jumping from London Bridge

LAKE HAVASU CITY, Ariz. – A juvenile who jumped into the water from the London Bridge at Lake Havasu and did not resurface is listed in critical condition at Havasu Regional Medical Center. Lake Havasu City police responded to the incident at about 8:52 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 11.

Police Sergeant Kyle Ridgway said arriving officers initiated a search of the shoreline and surrounding waters, assisted by civil boat operators.

“At approximately 9:12 a.m., a male juvenile was located underwater and found to be unresponsive,” Ridgway said. “Lake Havasu City Fire Department personnel who were on scene assisted officers in removing the juvenile from the water.”

Ridgway said lifesaving measures were initiated immediately before the hospital transport.

“The incident remains under active investigation,” Ridgway said. “Additional information will be released as it becomes available and can be appropriately disclosed.”
