Dr. Tim Culver begins role as MCC college interim president

MOHAVE COUNTY – Mohave Community College (Mohave College beginning August 2025) proudly welcomed Dr. Tim Culver as Interim President on Tuesday, July 1.  Dr. Culver has more than 35 years of experience in higher education, and was hired as Executive Vice President in 2020 by outgoing President Dr. Stacy Klippenstein, whose final day at the College was Monday, June 30. Dr. Klippenstein has accepted a new position as President of the College of Southern Nevada.

Dr. Culver helped guide the College institutional strategic planning, academic affairs, enrollment management, student success services, and numerous other initiatives that have strengthened services to students and communities throughout the region.

“It’s truly an honor to be appointed Interim President,” said Dr. Culver. “The College has an incredible team of faculty and staff dedicated to student success and community service. I look forward to working together to continue advancing the College mission and supporting the success of every student.”

Prior to joining the College, Dr. Culver served as Vice President for Student Success at Ruffalo Noel Levitz, where he supported more than 75 colleges and universities institutions across the U.S. and Canada in efforts to improve retention, graduation outcomes and institutional performance. His background also includes leadership at Shawnee State University and research focused on developmental education, institutional planning and student success.

As Interim President, Dr. Culver will help lead the College while the Board of Governors conducts a national search for a permanent president.  Dr. Culver looks forward to assisting with the onboarding of the new president to help ensure a smooth transition.

“The College is a special place, for nearly 55 years it has served northwestern Arizona with a strong focus on access, student achievement and workforce development, and that commitment will absolutely continue,” he said

The College offers a wide range of academic and career training programs, nationally recognized nursing and business programs, a growing number of noncredit courses for the community, and looks forward to offering bachelor’s degree options as early as spring semester 2026.
