AEPCO granted continuance of rezoning application

MOHAVE VALLEY – Arizona Electric Power Cooperative (AEPCO) has been granted its Request for a Continuance of its application for rezoning with an amendment to its general plan to develop a natural gas-powered electric generation facility in Mohave Valley.

Mohave County Chairman of the board Hildy Angius has granted the request and the agenda item has been moved from the August 19, Board of Supervisors meeting to the September 16 meeting.

Chairman Angius said AEPCO stated it met with the Fort Mojave Indian Tribe (“Tribe”) on July 11, to schedule additional meetings. AEPCO states it is also “conducting necessary due diligence studies and analyses on the site that are not yet complete.”

Chairman Angius believes many constituents are interested in expressing their viewpoint and want to attend the meeting regarding this important item. In order to facilitate the interests of all concerned, the item is moved to the September 16, Board of Supervisors meeting agenda.
