Kingman Area Food Bank Receives New Equipment

KINGMAN –  The Kingman Area Food Bank has received an essential piece of equipment for their operations! St Mary’s Food Bank approved a grant request made several months ago to fund a new fork lift truck for the Food Bank. This new equipment has a value in excess of $20,000 and was provided at no cost to serve the hungry in Mohave County

St Mary’s is affiliated via contract with the food bank in Kingman and provides a significant portion of the emergency food they provide to the public. They have a process whereby an affiliated agency can apply for a capacity grant to provide things that the agency is unable to acquire or have donated in the community. The grant process is open all year and is designed to improve the distribution of food to help eliminate hunger in our community.

This fork lift truck was the direct result of a grant request they submitted several months ago. This equipment will provide support for their operations for many years to come. The process of moving 1.4 million pounds of food into their warehouse and then into people’s homes requires this type of sophisticated equipment to complete. Without help from St Mary’s their ability to accomplish their mission of providing food to Mohave County residents would be significantly less effective.

For more information regarding this donation or our food bank, please contact Mark McGregor at 928-757-4165, or at 2930 E Butler Avenue in Kingman Arizona 86409 or by email at esdirkfb@gmail.com.
