Bullhead woman killed in traffic accident

BULLHEAD CITY – On July 28, at about 6:39 pm., the Bullhead City Police Department dispatch center received a report of a truck hauling a trailer that had become disabled on  eastbound Highway 68 between McCormick Boulevard and Davis Dam Road. The report indicated the trailer of the disabled vehicle was partially obstructing a lane of travel. An officer was dispatched to the area and at 6:50 pm, another caller reported that a vehicle had struck the trailer. Emergency crews arrived and found Lorrie West, 68, of Bullhead City had sustained fatal injuries as a result of the collision. The operator of the disabled vehicle was not in his vehicle at the time of the collision and was unharmed. The investigation revealed the operator of the disabled vehicle had placed reflective triangles on the roadway to warn approaching motorists of the trailer that was partially obstructing the roadway and he was in the process of contacting a tow via telephone to assist him when the collision occurred. Impairment is believed to be a factor in the collision and the investigation is ongoing.
