KINGMAN – The Kingman Office of Tourism and Economic Development is calling on photographers worldwide to participate in the 2024 Kingman Billboard Leap-year Photo Contest throughout February. The contest seeks images that showcase Kingman’s key attractions: Route 66, History, and Outdoor Recreation. The City of Kingman will award three grant prize winners, one for each category, with the opportunity to have their winning photos displayed prominently on 48’ wide billboards along Interstate 40 and Highway 93 (Future Interstate 11). Prescribed fire at Havasu and Bill Williams River National Wildlife Refuges

LAKE HAVASU CITY – The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Arizona Fire District Fire Crews plan to conduct prescribed fire burning operations at two Lake Havasu National Wildlife Refuge units during the months of January or February. Castle Rock unit, a large cattail marsh totaling approximately 588 acres, will be burned just south of Blankenship Bend and 2-miles west of Lake Havasu Airport. BWR Bridge unit, another large cattail marsh totaling approximately 86 acres, will be burned adjacent to the Bill Williams River Bridge at Highway 95.
