Officer Involved Shooting in Meadview

MEADVIEW – On Monday, May 11, at approximately 6:40 p.m., Mohave County Sheriff’s Office (MSCO) deputies responded to a residence near the 22000 block of Pierce Ferry Rd. for a disturbance/ neighbor dispute. The reporting party indicated that a male subject came onto their property acting strange and making threats.

Deputies then responded to a property in the 4200 block of Gold Basin Dr. to continue the investigation, when the male subject exited the residence and fired a weapon at them. A deputy returned fire, striking the male, who retreated into the home. The suspect eventually exited the residence and Deputies were able to render aid until the suspect was transported to a Las Vegas hospital via helicopter with non-life-threatening injuries.

No law enforcement personnel were injured during this incident. The investigation into the Officer Involved Shooting is being conducted by the Lake Havasu City Police Department, which is standard procedure. The deputy involved has been placed on paid administrative leave. This investigation is ongoing.
