MOHAVE COUNTY – Nearly one thousand high school students in Mohave County are earning college credits at Mohave Community College this spring semester, at no cost to their parents. Currently 935 high school students are enrolled in at least one college class through MCC. The breakdown for each campus is as follows: 380 in Kingman, 316 in Bullhead City, 222 in Lake Havasu City, 17 in Colorado City. KINGMAN – The City of Kingman recently partnered with American Conservation Experience (ACE) to rehabilitate the Fort Beale Springs. The Camp Beale Springs area was in need of weed removal, trail enhancements, and over aesthetic improvements. ACE Crew Leader Carina Zenti had a team of eight clearing brush, lining paths with rocks, and smoothing the trail to make it passable for more people to enjoy. City team members met with Jack McMullin, from ACE, walked the project area, and discussed what could be done to improve the site. BULLHEAD CITY – A Bullhead City woman resolving her drug case through a plea agreement will be going to the Arizona Department of Corrections for five years. The punishment for Destiny Ohlemacher, 27, is prescribed in the deal entered Thursday in Mohave County Superior Court in Kingman. Prosecutor Jacob Cote told Judge Rick Lambert that Ohlemacher was a passenger in a vehicle from which one pound of methamphetamine was seized following a January 30 traffic stop in the 600 block of Highway 95. “The defendant admitted trading methamphetamine for heroin,” Cote told the Court.
