Man who stabbed roommate to death may not be competent to stand trial

KINGMAN – A plea agreement was stalled during a recent sentencing hearing when Judge Doug Camacho instead decided that the Bullhead City defendant should first undergo a full-blown mental health evaluation. Ethan Nelson, 29, had undergone an initial assessment but he will now get the more extensive evaluation under the Rule 11 provision that will determine if he is legally competent to stand trial. “Obviously your Honor, he is seriously mentally ill,” defense attorney George Hibbeler said during the March 18 hearing before Judge Doug Camacho in Kingman. LAKE HAVASU CITY – In response to COVID-19 concerns, and based on discussions with and guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the office of Governor Doug Ducey, Arizona Department of Health Services, and the Mohave County Public Health Department, all City events, programs, and activities are canceled, including the Vetsgiving Brunch scheduled for March 29, and the Coffee with the Mayor and City Manager scheduled Friday, April 3. KINGMAN, Ariz. – KUSD School Closure Meal Service is open to all children and teens 18 and under at no charge and no enrollment necessary. Attached .pdf has menus and locations related information.
