MOHAVE COUNTY – Late Monday afternoon, the Mohave County Health Department (MCDPH) Nursing staff was notified today of 12 new confirmed COVID-19 cases. There are also three deaths from previously reported cases. Two of the deaths are in the Bullhead City service area.  One is 70-79 and one is 80-89. The third death is an 80-89 person in the Lake Havasu City service area. Ten of the 12 new confirmed cases are in the Bullhead City area. All ten remain under investigation. LAKE HAVASU CITY – Effective Friday, July 31 at 11:59 p.m., the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Colorado River District lowered fire restrictions from Stage 2 to Stage 1 for public lands in and around Yuma and Lake Havasu City, due to increased moisture in the area, and lower fire activity. It has been determined that the likelihood of a large wildfire has lessened to the degree that fire restrictions can be lowered in those areas. The Minnesota-Connor Mine is one of many hard rock mines in the historic Chloride Mining District. The mine began production in the early 1880s and was mined extensively though 1910, permanently closing in 1948. The mine produced predominantly gold and silver with secondary commodities of lead, copper, and zinc. In 2019, soil sampling indicated…
