BULLHEAD CITY – A teenager admitted sexually motivated touching of young sisters in Bullhead City as he entered a plea agreement that will send him to the Arizona Department of Corrections.
Terms of the deal unveiled on Aug. 9 in Kingman before Judge Doug Camacho would convict Landen Ziede, 18, of charges reduced to attempted child molestation and attempted sexual exploitation of a minor. Four counts of sexual exploitation of a minor and a sexual conduct with a minor charge are dismissed in the proposed deal.
Deputy Mohave County Attorney Leah Nelson said Ziede inappropriately touched the three and five-year-old victims on Sept. 16, 2022 at a residence in the 1800 block of Arrowhead Dr. She said he used a cell phone to make a very brief video of the illegal activity.
Bullhead City Police Department Spokeswoman Emily Fromelt said Ziede jumped up quickly and suspiciously when a female adult walked by. She said the witness indicated she saw Ziede holding his cell phone while lying next to the three-year-old whose pants were down.
Fromelt said a confrontation ensued and that police were contacted when the video was discovered during civilian review of Ziede’s cell phone.
Terms of the deal require imposition of a 5- to 15-year prison sentence, followed by lifelong probation with sex offender registration protocols. Sentencing is scheduled Sept. 14.
