Dear Editor,
Just read your article in the opinion section of The Standard Wednesday, March 20, 2024. You have a right to your opinion under the 1st Amendment of the Bill of Rights written into the United States Constitution.
So here is my opinion: After every yearly State of the Union Address the political party not in the White House gives a rebuttal to the President’s speech from their party’s perspective. To insult Katie Britt’s rebuttal because she is a Mom and conservative is a weak reason. It’s the quality of content that matters!
You say you ” fact checked ” her story about migrant human trafficking. If your source was from CNN or MSNBC I can see where you obtained their misinformation. Unless you have been hiding since inauguration day January 20, 2021 from day one Joe Biden has sought to destroy the United States from within and has embolden our country’s enemies.
I have spoken with current and retired law enforcement officers that are tasked with protecting our borders and assigned to arrest hardened criminals let out of jails all over the world. The ” uplifting speech ” you say the President gave was nothing but Socialist/Communist rhetoric to appease the masses.
Think about this: Why did a ” gold star’ father risk arrest when he heckled Biden? He had to let him know his kid died when Biden suddenly pulled our troops out of Afghanistan with no regard for our troops safety!
To call Katie Britt’s rebuttal to the State of the Union Address ” creepy ” shows you aren’t living in the real world in my opinion. No borders, inflation, DEI and CRT mandated in schools, the military, in businesses, and the media, murders drugs, sex trafficking, no cash bail releasing criminals back to the streets, a disastrous energy policy, and decline of respect for America at home and abroad.
