Traffic signal upgrade at Stockton Hill Road and Andy Devine Avenue

KINGMAN – The City of Kingman will begin upgrading the traffic signal system at the intersection of Stockton Hill Road, Hualapai Mountain Road, and Andy Devine Avenue starting Monday, January 19. At this location, Stockton Hill Road transitions into Hualapai Mountain Road, making the intersection an important connection for daily traffic and local travel.

On Monday, January 19, crews will conduct daytime work along the roadway shoulder. Motorists should anticipate workers in the area and are encouraged to slow down and use caution while traveling through the intersection.  Overnight work will follow from Tuesday, January 20 through Thursday, January 23, between 9:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. During these hours, lane closures will be in place and police officers will be on site to assist with traffic control. The traffic signal will be temporarily dark at times due to overhead construction activities. Drivers should follow posted signage and officer directions and remain alert for workers and equipment.

Additional overnight work is scheduled for Monday, January 26, from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Crews will continue overhead work and install new traffic cameras. Lane closures and police presence will remain in effect, and motorists are again asked to use caution when traveling through the area.  Final work and project completion are expected on Tuesday, January 27. Drivers should continue to watch for workers and equipment as crews wrap up the project.

The City of Kingman appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation during this improvement effort, which is intended to enhance traffic operations and safety at this busy intersection.
