KINGMAN –The City of Kingman is alerting residents to a significant road closure beginning Monday, June 16, through Friday, July 4. During this time, Eastern Street will be closed between Pacific Avenue and Airfield Avenue. A detour will be in place directing traffic from Eastern Street to Alpha Street, then to Airfield Avenue, and back to Eastern Street.
This detour is to continue installing the new Santa Rosa Transmission Main water line. The project is anticipated to be completed by mid December, 2025, with work on Eastern St. carried out in three detouring phases. This closure marks Phase 3 of the Eastern Street construction effort. Once work has been completed on Eastern Street, construction will continue east on Pacific Avenue, north on Sage Street, and will end north of Interstate 40 on Santa Rosa Street. Normal construction hours will take place Monday through Thursday, from 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with occasional Friday and nighttime work as needed.
There will be a clearly marked detour in place directing motorists. While access to homes and businesses will be maintained, there may be intermittent disruptions. The contractor will provide assistance with driveway access and notify affected properties in advance as the project progresses.
This vital infrastructure project is designed to enhance the city’s water delivery system by optimizing pump operations, removing pressure-reducing valves, and creating a clear separation between the Main Tank and Rattlesnake water zones. These improvements will significantly increase water system reliability and efficiency for Kingman residents.
There is an information hotline in place for any additional questions, 928-233-8790 or info@yourprojectmo.com
The City appreciates the public’s understanding and cooperation as we work to upgrade essential infrastructure in our community. Information on future phases of the project will be shared as it becomes available.
Residents should expect to see construction crews, heavy equipment, and trucks in the area during work hours. Activities will include asphalt removal, trench excavation, pipe installation, and road restoration. The City urges drivers and pedestrians to use caution, obey traffic control signage, and help ensure a safe environment for workers and the traveling public.
