Animal farm nonprofit helps trauma victims

LAKE HAVASU CITY – Equine certified founder Pam Nelson of the nonprofit Healing Meadows, is assisting victims of trauma cope with the help of farm animals. Last week, the organization hosted a meet and greet so that the community can learn more about how animals can play a key role with one’s emotional recovery. 

The Healing Meadows Meet and Greet took place on Thursday, August 15 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Grapes and Grains wine bar.

Mohave County Democratic Road Show

MOHAVE COUNTY – Democratic candidates visited three cities on Saturday, August 10 including Lake Havasu, Bullhead City and Kingman to discuss their platforms, meet voters, and answer questions. On Sunday, August 11, they continued on to Mesquite, Nevada and finished in Colorado City, Arizona.

Waterline improvement requires nighttime closure on McCulloch

LAKE HAVASU CITY – A temporary road closure of McCulloch Boulevard is required for Public Works Infrastructure Improvements.  In an effort to reduce the impact to local businesses and motorist, contractors will be working at night to improve the water system. 

McCulloch Boulevard from Capri Lane to Smoketree Avenue is closed to thru traffic next Monday, August 12, at 7:00 p.m., and is scheduled to reopen the following morning on August 13, at 3:00 a.m.
