Arrest made in fatal traffic crash

KINGMAN – Investigation of a traffic accident that claimed the life of a local teenager late last year has led to the arrest of a young Kingman man. Deputy Police Chief Joel Freed said Dalin Penrod, 20, was booked into the Mohave County Adult Detention Facility on April 11 on a charge of causing death by moving violation. Lacey Lynn Gale, 19, Kingman, was fatally injured when her vehicle was struck by Penrod’s vehicle at about 8:10 p.m. on Dec. 13. KINGMAN – A Mohave County Sheriff’s Office deputy shot and killed a man during a lunch hour encounter in Kingman. Agency spokeswoman Anita Mortensen said deputies responded at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 13 to a request to assist a neighboring law enforcement agency with a pursuit in north Kingman. “Deputies spotted the involved vehicle and observed the involved male subject walking on Norrie Dr. with a weapon,” Mortensen said. “Verbal commands were issued and a confrontation with the male subject evolved into shots fired by one deputy and the male subject.” Mortensen said the subject was dead at the scene.
