Dear Editor, The largest Bureau of Land Management (BLM)   roundup utilizing helicopters on the 2024 scheduled capture of burros kicked off this month in the Black Mountain Herd Management Area (HMA) nestled between Kingman and Bullhead City. The use and inhumane-method of helicopters to roundup wild burros and horses equals danger and great financial expense, and results in: trauma, injuries family bands torn apart and even deaths. Lenore H. Hafley, 82, of Kingman, Arizona, passed away on February 19, 2020. She was born December 13, 1938 to J. Leonard and Grace Neal. Lenore is survived by two sons; Leonard and Ty Hafley, along with 14 grandchildren. She is preceded in death by two sons, Tom E. Hafley and Casey C. Hafley; grandson TJ Hafley; brothers John L. and Raymond Neal; and parents John Leonard and Grace Neal. Lenore loved ranching, horses, cattle, cooking, and the cinema.
