Resort offers two art classes each week

LAKE HAVASU CITY – Lake Havasu’s London Bridge Resort has all sorts of craft classes for those wanting to create their own works of art. About seven years ago the classes were launched by former Long Beach California resident Debbie Ward who retired to Havasu in 2016.

The Former Informative Technical Engineer began attending Havasu’s ongoing paint night classes taught at Pam Reinke studio located in Havasu’s English Village. Ward enjoyed the classes so much, she applied and was recruited to teach at the resort twice a week.

Many of the artwork created by her students spotlight the city’s idyllic traits like the hot air balloons of Balloon Fest, beach scenery, and western themed subjects. The art classes are not just reserved for the resort’s guests, they are also available to the Havasu community.

All art supplies are provided to participate in the class such as the needed materials, canvas, and one complimentary cocktail. Ward’s Canvas and Cocktail classes are $40 per person, and her Do it Yourself craft sessions are just $15.

Signups in advance are required for each class. Anyone interested can reserve their spot by visiting the resort’s facebook page or by calling the front desk directly at 928-855-0888.

The classes occur each Monday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Canvas and Cocktails class is each Tuesday night from 6 to 8:30 p.m. All classes take place at the London Bridge Resort.

Aside from the enjoyment Ward gets from introducing the various outcomes that can be created with the use of dimensions, the art instructor takes pleasure in meeting the variations of students that attend her classes. “I really like seeing the improvements of my returning students and I also like the newcomers who are amazed that they have created something that will always stay with them,” Ward said.
