As a parent and grandparent, I am concerned about the future my children and grandchildren will inherit. I believe in women’s rights. The Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade and the subsequent resurgence of Arizona’s 1864 abortion ban have left me worried about the kind of world my family will grow up in.
Kari Lake’s support for this ban is not just a political stance; it’s a threat to women’s health and autonomy. Lake’s extreme position on abortion is out of step with the needs and rights of women today.
She praises a law that was written over a century ago, long before women even had the right to vote. This law endangers women by forcing them to seek unsafe and illegal abortions or travel out of state for care. It is an attack on their right to make decisions about their own bodies.
