Prison for meth dealer

KINGMAN – A Kingman woman asked for leniency as she faced a 5-15-year prison term at her Tuesday sentencing hearing. “I’d like to apologize for my actions,” Lisa Walls, 50, told Judge Doug Camacho.

Deputy Mohave County attorney Morgan Carstensen urged the judge to impose maximum punishment because the defendant sold quarter-pound increments of methamphetamine to a confidential informant on multiple occasions.

“Ms. Walls is not someone who sells merely to support her habit. She’s doing this specifically for pecuniary gain,” Carstensen said. “Ms. Walls was a significant player in the drug sales community in Kingman.”

Walls was convicted of possession of dangerous drugs for sale involving a March 11, 2019 seizure of 1.5 pounds of meth that she admitted stashing in a shed after running from the scene of a traffic stop. Walls is also convicted of sale of dangerous drugs for providing a confidential informant 114 grams of meth for $800 at 3131 East Potter Ave. on May 29, 2019.

Judge Doug Camacho imposed a 12-year prison sentence, the higher end of the range afforded under terms of the plea agreement.
