Pedestrian struck on purpose

Horace Letson

BULLHEAD CITY – A vehicular homicide attempt is reported in Bullhead City. Police Sergeant Eddie Espinoza said officers responded just after 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 9 to a vehicle-pedestrian collision in the area of Langford Drive and Baseline Road.

“A Cadillac sedan was reported to have intentionally collided with the pedestrian and fled the scene,” Espinoza said. He said the victim was able to identify the driver before he was flown to Las Vegas for treatment of major injuries.

“The driver and vehicle were located by the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office in Mohave Valley a short time later,” Espinoza said. He was identified as 60-year-old Horace Letson.

Espinoza said investigators learned that Letson and the pedestrian had a personal history of confrontation. Letson was arrested and booked into the Adult Detention Center in Kingman for attempted murder, aggravated assault, leaving the scene of an injury collision and driving with a suspended license.
