BOS to revisit hiring freeze on Monday

MOHAVE COUNTY – Several Mohave County officials expressed concerns about service delivery as the Board of Supervisors approved an across-the-board hiring freeze during its Aug. 21 meeting. And some of them are now rushing back to the board requesting exceptions to the hiring stoppage directive. Seven department heads are requesting hiring freeze exceptions for nearly four dozen positions. Sheriff Doug Schuster leads the way in seeking 28 exceptions for his department followed by county attorney Matt Smith who seeks freeze relief for eight positions in his domain. The board will take up the exception requests during its Sept. 5 meeting….

KINGMAN – At the Dec 4 meeting of the City of Kingman Water Sustainability Task Force, a new chairman and vice-chairman were voted on and elected. These changes will go into effect January 2020. The future Chairman is Rob Owen, Public Works Director for the City of Kingman. The future Vice Chairman is Katherine Fish, Floodplains Program Manager.
