LAKE HAVASU CITY – Two Lake Havasu organizations got all geared up for the upcoming Thanksgiving season. Living Word Church hosted their annual Community Thanksgiving service while the Dementia Connection of Havasu, had a Thanksgiving gathering for the elderly.

Living Word’s Words Community Thanksgiving Service took place on Wednesday, November 20th at 6:30pm and Dementia Connection of Lake Havasu’s holiday event was on Thursday, November 21 at 10 a.m. at Mount Olive Church. Founded in 1995 by Pastor Collins, the Living Word Church has ministries for children, men, and women.

The event invited all churches in Havasu to worship. Local churches like Lakeview Community Church, Restoration Hope Church, Inspire Church, City on a Hill, and several more congregations, all joined in the celebration. With music provided by Living Word’s Band, The Prayer Team, the service focused on the story of the first communion and The Last Supper.

The following day, the Dementia Connection dedicated to serving seniors, invited seniors of the community for a day of food, fun and games, for those suffering from Alzheimer’s and dementia.

Thanksgiving is that special time of year for everyone to give thanks and appreciation for the many blessings we have and to recognize that having gratitude is the ultimate reward.
