Mom killer pleads guilty

BULLHEAD CITY – A Bullhead City man who stabbed and killed his own mother at her breakfast table is going to prison for at least 16 years. That’s the minimum sentence possible for Kevin Proulx, a white supremacist who pleaded guilty September 24 to second degree murder in the Aug., 2019 death of Bette Jean Vaughn, 74. Proulx, 45, could also get up to 25 years in prison when sentenced Oct. 29 by Judge Doug Camacho. KINGMAN –  There has been a sharp increase in COVID-19 cases throughout the State of Arizona and within Mohave County that increases risk to the well-being of citizens and poses potential strains on the healthcare facilities and workers in the City of Kingman. Three Havasu heroes receive key to the city

LAKE HAVASU CITY – The Lake Havasu City Council meeting was on Tuesday, Nov. 28.  The meeting opened with Mayor Sheehy and board members awarding three heroes of the community.  About two weeks ago, Parks and Recreations employees John Schwing, Andrew Hartman, and Tyler McCoy were hanging lights at Lake Havasu’s Wheeler Park when they saved and individual from committing suicide. The mayor awarded the gentlemen with Lake Havasu Employee Heroes certificates along with a key to the city, the highest honor for recognition in Lake Havasu. Rodriguez sentencing set in toddler death case

LAKE HAVASU CITY – A sentencing hearing is the only matter left in the prosecution of parents from Lake Havasu City who were charged in the blunt force trauma and starvation death of their toddler daughter. Andrew Lamorie, 24, is already serving a 16-year prison term after pleading guilty to second degree murder. Attempts to enter plea agreements for co-defendant Brittany Rodriquez, 27, went south for various reasons on a half dozen occasions. Hospital district board approves additional $2.3 million IGA with KRMC

KINGMAN – The Board of Directors of the HDOMC (Hospital District Number One of Mohave County) on August 29, approved an IGA (Intergovernmental Agreement) with KRMC (Kingman Regional Medical Center) to provide matching funds of $2.3 million for an AHCCCS (Arizona Health Cost Containment System) program, APSI (Access to Professional Services Initiative).
