Nebraska awards record 3,885 degrees in May ceremonies

MOHAVE COUNTY – The University of Nebraska-Lincoln conferred a record 3,885 degrees during commencement exercises May 8 and 9.

A ceremony for students earning graduate and professional degrees took place May 8 at Pinnacle Bank Arena; and two ceremonies for undergraduates were May 9 at the arena. A ceremony for College of Law graduates occurred May 9 at the Bob Devaney Sports Center. Interim Chancellor Katherine S. Ankerson presided over the ceremonies.

From Mohave County, the following students received degrees: Regan Ellise Broz of Bullhead City, College of Arts and Sciences, Bachelor of Arts; and Jonah Matthew Waits of Kingman, College of Journalism and Mass Communications, Bachelor of Journalism.

Waits of Kingman was among 29 members of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Reserve Officer Training Corps who received military commissions May 8-10. Waits was commissioned a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army on May 8.
