BULLHEAD CITY – Due to COVID-19, Talas Harbor at Bullhead City a 24-bed, Arizona State Licensed inpatient Psychiatric Hospital for geriatric patients has reevaluated its admission protocol and is hoping to provide some relief to emergency room staff handling psychiatric patients. According to Chaz Martinez, Talas Harbor’s Community Education Manager, “The hospital is committed to our mission of working with individuals, families, and communities to develop, implement and align resources, programs and policies that support behavioral health and wellness. The extraordinary challenges all hospitals are facing in this unprecedented time due to COVID-19 has caused the clinical team at Talas Harbor to reevaluate the assessment process for prospective patients. Admissions are now accepted 24 hours a day. Referrals may be made by emergency departments, physicians, social workers, mental health professionals, friends, or self. The decision regarding admission is made by the medical staff.
