Local quilters making a difference for those facing life challenges

FT. MOHAVE – Three quilting clubs — Quilts of Comfort, Stitch-n-Rippits Quilt Club, and The Colorado River Quilt Guild — recently visited Valley View Medical Center to donate beautiful, handmade quilts for patients on comfort care or transitioning to hospice care at home.

Annette Slocombe, Barbara Moskun, Mavis Fulco, and Joyce Goodman.

These groups are pillars of generosity throughout the tri-state area, donating their handcrafted quilts to organizations across our region. These aren’t just blankets—they’re carefully crafted gifts of comfort that patients and their families treasure during difficult times. The gratitude from families who receive these quilts is profound, and it’s a touching reminder of how our community shows up for one another.

The dedication of these quilting clubs represents the best of our community—neighbors caring for neighbors through their time, talent, and compassion that extends throughout the tri-state area.

Mary King, Annette Slocombe, Barbara Moskun, Mavis Fulco, Marsha Henn, Joyce Goodman, Kathy Lochrie, and Lisa Townsend. Lisa Townsend generously donated fabric to support the local quilting clubs’ ongoing work.
