Las Vegas man charged in deadly Bullhead traffic accident fails to appear in court

BULLHEAD CITY — The Las Vegas man charged in a deadly traffic accident in Bullhead City did not attend his September 2 hearing at the Mohave County Law and Justice Center in Kingman. His attorney, Virginia Crews, informed Mohave County Superior Court judge Lee Jantzen that her client, Anthony Lee, is in custody in Florida for alleged involvement in another undisclosed criminal matter.

Jantzen granted the state’s motion to issue a bench warrant for Lee’s arrest to return him to Arizona to face local charges including second degree murder, child abuse and drunk driving counts.

Authorities have reported that Lee, 29, was speeding when the 2021 Dodge Charger he was operating ran a red light before colliding with a 2020 Hyundai in the area of Highway 95 and Meadows Drive in May, 2024.

The lone occupant of the Hyundai, Judy Keller, 78, Bullhead City, was dead at the scene of the crash. Three adults and a child in the Charger sustained varying injuries in the collision.

Attorneys in early August informed Judge Jantzen that they were one year apart in resolving the case against Lee by plea agreement. The defense was pushing for a nine year prison deal while the state was holding firm to prison punishment of ten years.
