LAKE HAVASU CITY – While Lake Havasu City officials are requesting that visitors not travel to their Colorado River community during the COVID-19 health crisis, it’s still possible to experience the Havasu spirit at home.
Local native and country & western star Matt Farris, who has shared the stage with Blake Shelton, Trace Adkins, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and other top recording artists, will stream a Facebook Live private performance on Thursday, July 23, starting at 7 p.m. Arizona Time (PT).
Originating from Lake Havasu City’s Flying X Saloon, Farris will perform in front of an online audience only; the bar will be closed to the public to maintain recommended social distancing guidelines.

“While we need our visitors to stay home during this pandemic, through this concert we hope to remind people that we miss you and that we know you miss us,” said Terence Concannon, president/CEO of Go Lake Havasu.
“Matt’s free concert will remind us all that together we’ll come roaring back when health restrictions are eventually lifted. The Havasu spirit will shine brighter than ever once we all get through this.”
Farris is a cutting-edge country singer from Nashville, but his roots run deep in Lake Havasu City. His first single, Redneck Radio, saw placement in both the Billboard Indicator (peak #56) and Music Row (peak #38) charts, as well as holding a position at #1 on the Indie World Country chart four weeks in a row in 2012-13.
His second single, Resident Redneck, continued to ascend the charts and was nominated for New Music Weekly’s New Music Country Single of the Year Award.
Matt, a 2005 graduate of Lake Havasu High School, strongly believes in giving back to the community through performing for Make a Wish Foundation, the American Cancer Society and Breast Cancer Awareness. In fact, this past spring, he and his band serenaded Mesa, Arizona, residents from the back of a flatbed trailer while driving through neighborhoods.
