Lake Havasu City launches new Public Safety Dispatch System

LAKE HAVASU CITY — Lake Havasu City is proud to announce the successful implementation of its new Motorola Flex Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) system and US Digital Fire Station Alerting System, a major investment in public safety technology that strengthens emergency response across the community. The system officially went live the week of February 9, following more than a year of planning, testing, and collaboration.

The transition was a coordinated effort between the Police Department, Fire Department, and Information Technology Division. Staff from patrol, dispatch, records, fire operations, and IT worked closely with Motorola representatives to build and configure the system to align with local workflows. Throughout the process, employees evaluated and tested the platform, refining procedures to improve efficiency and ensure a smooth rollout.

The system provides several operational benefits that enhance efficiency and coordination across public safety services. These include more streamlined dispatch processes with automated recommendations for the closest available medical unit, mobile access to real-time CAD information for field personnel, enhanced mapping with integrated call details and navigation tools, customizable user features, improved visibility of reporting errors, a more efficient booking process, and an integrated evidence module that allows investigators to document information within a single system.

“This investment is already delivering immediate benefits,” said Fire Chief Pete Pilafas. “The system enables dispatchers to alert stations and units while gathering critical information from 911 callers, which reduces processing times and supports faster overall response.”

Police Chief Troy Stirling added that the new platform enhances coordination and provides personnel with more effective tools both in the communications center and in the field. “We spent significant time evaluating, testing, and refining workflows to improve efficiency and align with system capabilities,” Stirling said.

The new CAD and Station Alerting System represents a significant step forward in strengthening public safety infrastructure, improving response coordination, and enhancing service delivery for residents and visitors alike.
